1st  70'S ALUMNI REUNION

for BAND & CHORUS

…came about from mid-70’s OPHS Alumni who wanted to see old friends that we invested so much time, energy, shared emotions, mischievousness, and performed magnificently with during our time at Orange Park High School.

We had a fabulous Band Director, in the 70’s at OPHS. Mr. Jolan K. Smith richly invested his talent and heart into our veins. It is our honor to have Mr. and Mrs. Jolan K. Smith attend this reunion! He will be proud of the men and women that you are today because of his influence in art and work ethic.

The Band Director to follow Mr. Smith’s departure was Mr. Bob Allen. We are excited to know that Mr. and Mrs. Bob Allen are also planning to attend this reunion. (Mr. Allen was my band director @  J.E.B. Stuart Jr. High School! sc)

During this past year, an Alumnus contacted us from the 70's, who went on to became a Band Director.   Mr. David McGuffin's story was such a "surprise".  David had been in the Chorus, not the Band! He completely escaped the Band Experience during his high school years at OPHS, yet went on to become a BAND DIRECTOR in CLAY COUNTY at Ridgeview High School! We are thrilled that the 70’s Band & Chorus made a wonderful career impression on Mr. McGuffin! ;)  We look forward to his participation.

We are still searching for Mr. Noah Srygley and Sponsors for other performing teams. We need your help locating these important people.

We cannot do this alone. Teamwork made us successful years ago: the pattern is the same today.

Without YOUR help & input, we are nothing more than loud, clanging brass.
